Until the Election of 2008, the Recorder and Circuit Clerk were a combined office. The Iron County Recorders office, located in Ironton, Missouri is in the beautiful historical courthouse. The courthouse was put into action in October, 1860.
The job of the Recorder is to record, index, and store the land, military records, surveys, plats, and tax liens as well as issue marriage licenses.
