Collector Responsibilities:

  • Collection and distribution of current and delinquent personal property taxes and real estate taxes.
  • Conduct the annual tax certificate sale which is held the fourth Monday in August
  • Collection for merchant and manufactures licenses which are due by December 31st each year.

Ways To Pay:

  • Pay by phone, mail or in person.
  • Credit or debit by phone is an additional 2.19% of your bill
  • Debit use in office is an additional 1.79% of your bill
  • There is no additional fee to checks written in office or sent by mail
  • Cash payments are accepted in office only
  • At this time online pay is not available for the Iron County Collector’s office

Please be advised that additional fees are charged by the service provider not by Iron County.


Tax Bills

All tax bills are due by December 31st.  Payments received after December 31st but have a December postmark will be considered on time payments. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the obligation to pay timely (Section 52.240 RSMo)


Tax Certificate Sales

Properties subject to sale will be published in the Mountain Echo for three consecutive weeks in July prior to the sale. Please thoroughly read the Missouri statutes pertaining to the tax sale prior to purchasing a tax lien on a property. The tax certificate sale is held annually on the fourth Monday in August at 10:00 A.M. at the Iron County Courthouse.


Merchant And Manufacturers Licenses

You must obtain a merchant or manufacturer license through the Collector’s Office if you operate a business which sells goods or merchandise or manufactures within Iron County. The fee is $25.00 annually, due no later than December 31st, and is not prorated.
