The Public Administrator acts as the court-appointed guardian and/or conservator for minor, disabled or incapacitated persons and is responsible for their charge, care, well-being and their quality of life in the least restrictive environment as possible. 

The Public Administrator reports annually to the probate court on the financial and physical well-being of each Ward.

Public Administrators may also be appointed personal representative for estates who have no heirs. The office does not petition the court for appoints, but serves the County as the Court deems necessary.
